HAND-EYE COORDINATION – FINE MOTOR SKILLS – CREATIVE DESIGN – LEARNING COLOURS – HANDS-ON ARITHMETIC
Suitable for all children’s institutions. Several children of different ages can play together.
Wall-mounted board made from plywood ca. 920 x 820 x 80 mm, clear varnished. Mounting instructions included.
Inside the wall-mounted abacus are 100 large wooden balls – 10 each of the 10 brightest colours of the rainbow. The wooden balls cannot be removed and cannot therefore become lost. They can be moved backwards and forwards, up and down, to wherever they are required. BOTH hands are used – the balls move from one hand to the other.
Small children are stimulated by the rainbow colours to HANDLE the balls. They move and observe the balls, without these being able to roll away. Older children can SORT the balls into colours – e.g. one colour per row or one of each colour in a row. Patterns can also be designed and CREATED. While they are doing this, children learn their colours as they name them and learn to differentiate between, for example, light green and dark green.
Furthermore, the 10 x 10 balls are perfect for HANDS-ON ARITHMETIC through play – for practising the ten times table, understanding sets… . This all makes learning fun!
