Suggestions for play: Traditional and modern elements are brought togehter in the design of this building game. The concept is to play with building blocks made from both wood and stone. Both originate from the ideas of Friedrich Fröbel, the founder of the Kindergarten. The number of wooden building blocks has been calculated to allow the complete range of Fröbel Gifts 3, 4, 5, 6 and 5B according to Goldammer to be built one after another. In addition, the game includes 8 of the cubes from Gift 3 and 8 of the oblong blocks from Gift 4 made from stone. Basic size 25 mm. The properties of wood and stone as materials, their similarities and their differences are explored through play. What both materials have in common is that they come from natural sources. The tradition of these play things dates back to the 19th century. There are also differences to discover e.g.: Appearance, weight, texture, smell, temperature and their properties when you build with them... Phenomenal optical stimuli are added by experimenting with mirrors.
