HAND-EYE-COORDINATION - MOTOR SKILLS - CREATIVE BUILDING
We have tested the ball table successfully:
- in nurseries. Children from the age of 2 years play UNDER the table. As soon as the children are able to see the TOP of the table, they play on or under the table.
- as support in the therapeutical practice for children and adults.
- in waiting areas.
- at places where elderly people live and like to play in the company of others.
The round table’s bottom has holes in it and is equipped with 70 wooden balls in 7 different colours (the diameter of the balls is 40 mm). It is covered with an acrylic glass pane that is 10 mm thick.
The balls are moved from below by letting them jump from hole to hole with your fingers or you let the balls roll around the table on the ball path by pushing them gently.
The balls can also be played with and arranged in a creative way. It is possible to sort them according to their colour or to create patterns, e.g. blossoms, rhombuses etc.
You can invent strategic games, such as HALMA or you lay a line of balls that has to be overcome by pushing the balls out of their holes. Here, you use your own imagination without the need for rules.
The permanent coordination between the eye and the hand is the most important feature of the game. All activities involve moving your fingers and practicing dexterity. The well-matched colours of the wooden balls are very inviting and appeal to almost every age group causing lots of fun when you are playing.
Through the acrylic glass pane, we can see how we let the balls jump from one hole to the other. The balls cannot be removed which prevents them from getting lost.
